Lesvos is the birthplace of the female poet Sappho. The inland is dotted with mountainsides and large olive groves. In fact, Lesvos Greece produces high-quality virgin olive oil, apart from the famous ouzo. A very beautiful place is Molyvos, a traditional village constructed amphitheatrically on the slopes of a hill with excellent views to the Aegean Sea, crowned by a Medieval Castle on top.
